"Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure." -unknown
Bill founded the firm, Seiter & Co. back in 2001. In 2015, he changed the name of the firm to Seiter Legal Studio. When Bill first started the firm, he had very few clients and knew very few IP professionals. However, over time, through his active participation in various trademark conferences, he secured a number of good clients and made many friends along the way. Bill quickly made a name for himself in the trademarks and IP industry. Friends became clients and clients became friends. Bill was a well-respected and revered member of the IP community. He worked hard every day to make a difference and set himself apart from other IP lawyers, and in the end, he achieved exactly that.
Bill was always friendly, easy to talk to and extremely approachable. He was known for his wit, intellectual conversations and many stories. He would often talk about his travels in his younger days. He loved traveling, hiking, swimming, music, and reading. He co-authored the book "The Creative Artist's Legal Guide: Copyright, Trademark and Contracts in Film and Digital Media Production", published by Yale University Press, with his sister Professor Ellen Seiter, USC School of Cinematic Arts.
In 2010, Bill and I met at the INTA Leadership Meeting in Phoenix. We were on different paths of our career and personal lives at the time but Bill charmed his way into my life and we fell in love. In 2013, we decided to spend the rest of our lives together and got married in Miami Beach in front of our closest friends and family. We were always together, living in Singapore and in the US, managing two businesses jointly and traveling the world together. From two persons, the firm grew to a team of five.
Life without Bill is difficult and I miss him every day. He was my husband, my partner, my soul mate. Bill will live on through me, and I do my best to keep his memory alive and continue his legacy through the firm he founded, Seiter Legal Studio.
